Hi I dreamt about you last nite…

It’s kinda hard to swallow – I’ve got less than 8 weeks left to the 1st Sem of 2nd Year.. in no time at all, I’ll be done with 2nd Yr completely. What a rush.

I’ve been listening to a lot of a whole mish-mash of music lately. A lot of the new music out there is just plain boring. So here’s my list:
1. Morbid Angel – Domination (Good old death metal)
2. Shelter – Quest For Certainty (90s Krishna-core)
3. Snapcase – Lookglassself (One of my favourite bands of all time)
4. Justin Timberlake – Justified (This the shit y’all)
5. Dismember – Dismember (After watching them live, this has got to be my favourite album)
6. Synnove – The Whore And The Bride (Pierris’ black metal band from Adelaide!)
7. Gil Parris – Gil Parris (Jazz guitarist, and he’s using a Reverend guitar!)
8. Hey Mercedes – Everynight Fire Works & Loses Control (THIS is what indie rock was meant to be)
9. Chuck Berry – The Best of Chuck Berry (I sorta needed some guitar riffing inspiration)
10. Hundred Reasons – Shatterproof Is Not A Challenge (Thanx to Rudi, this album is giving me lots of good riffing ideas)

I’ve also been trying to work on my music project(s), but it’s been smacking my head to a brick wall with every effort.

Work at The Ellington has been a lot of fun, especially that all of us staff are getting to know each other better.

I’ve taken a new liking to enjoying a good glass of wine, and of cos, accompanied with some crackers and select cheese. Call it my new weakness.

Ok, it’s time for me to get out of my room.

Some people defy the laws of existence by existing…

I think this whole idea of giving you dot point updates of my life works pretty well so far. Saves me the trouble of thinking of something witty to write. So here goes.

1. I got my Mac Mini! For anyone who cares, the specs are – 2.26 Ghz processor, 250GB HDD, 4GB RAM. I don’t have to justify WHY I got it; even if I did, some wiseass is bound to make some careless statement about why I would even need two Macs. So here’s my take (friendly version): I’ve been working with 2 Macs since 2005. It’s been part of my workflow for that long, it’s kinda hard to change. The other reason, and giving all due credit to The Big Bang Theory, because I can.

2. No, I’ve not sold my current 15″ MacBook Pro. It’s begs me to ask a simple question. I distinctively mentioned in my previous post that I only entertain Perth queries only, yet the bulk of interested parties that contacted me are from singapore. So, I repeat, PERTH ONLY!

3. As a result of working out so much in the gym, I guess my body has given me a subtle sign that it’s tired. I’ve got tendonitis in my right elbow and it fucking hurts. So I had to get my entire training program changed to work around my injury. Woopeedoo…

4. My ass is getting smaller. No, really, I’m serious … I lost another 1/2 inch off my ass. Everything else, unfortunately, is still the same.

5. This goes out to a friend of mine. She just got her tongue pierced, and already some of her friends are making funny comments about it. So I say to you my dear, those friends of yours, are idiots. A tongue piercing doesn’t change who you are. On that note, I think that piercing totally rocks.

6. After 8 years of planning and researching, I just might be getting my tattoo done in Dec. I’m working with a good friend to get some ideas for illustrations and my overall concept. I CAN’T WAIT! 8 FUCKING YEARS!

7. I confess I am a bitter person. I’ve got grudges and unresolved conflicts with a bunch of people. But you… you are amazing. You live in your own world where you act like the queen of self pity; everyone HAS to subscribe your thinking, and anyone who disagrees, gets a “death penalty”. I could go on, but I think I’ll just enjoy the view I have up here. Yes, I AM above you.

8. I just started watching a whole bunch of TV shows. Call it catching up. Here’s the list (and please don’t ask me how I’ve acquired them):
The Sopranos – can’t believe I JUST started watching this now… I know I should be shot.
The Big Bang Theory – Hooray for the inner geeks.. and OH YEAH for Kaley Cuoco…
Heroes Season 3 – If you’re not watching it, the nearest ledge to you shouldn’t be that far away…
CSI Vegas – Is it me, or are the cases getting more morbid with each episode?
Grey’s Anatomy – Lexi Grey.

Bring on the winter!

OMG I have Internet!!!

OMG I have Internet!!!

After 6 weeks without it, 3 weeks for Telstra to hunt for my place, I am finally “wired” at home. So, like I always do, here’s what’s been happening:

1. I’m now officially working for The Ellington Jazz Club. It’s the first jazz club in Perth, and from what I hear, the first of its kind in Australia. And I love it.

2. Soundwave was awesome! My fav bands for the whole festival – Lamb Of God and Rival Schools. Plus, the crazy bunch was great company.

3. I am selling my Macbook Pro. Contact me for details. Perth buyers only please.

4. After all the banter about me hitting the gym and running and all, here’s the proof.

The Siti Hatred is akan datang…

Internet should be free.

So here’s my take on things so far. Life sucks without the Internet, especially ,when I’ve got nothing to do late at night. But, in other news, here’s the juice:

1. My house is finally clear of everyone’s stuff except Martin’s and mine. We’re gonna try our best to make it as homely and cosy as we can.

2. I’ve officially retired my Nike Pegasus. Say hello to my new Kayano-14s…

3. I got a new job! The Ellington Jazz club… training day is this coming Sat and the official big launch is 5th March. Omg I can barely contain myself!!!

4. Uni starts tomorrow!

5. I’m still hitting the gym and running regularly. Yeah, the aches and pains are there, but hey, it’s one pain that hurts so good.

6. The crazy bunch is coming to Perth this Friday!!!

7. I’m hoping I have Internet at home within the next 2 weeks. Making trips to Uni at night is getting boring, even tho I really enjoy riding my bike.

Free the Internet…

Flamingos, you know those pink looking table ornaments?

As requested by my loyal readers, here’s the lowdown of stuff happening.

1. I moved out of the student village and into this really nice apartment with Martin. Bigger room, bigger living room, just a little bit more expensive, but the convenience is close to perfect. I’m now 2 mins from The Rock Inn, Liquorland, 5 mins from Blockbuster Videos and 10 mins from everything else, including Uni.

2. No, I don’t have internet YET. Not unless I make my way to Exomod Cafe or Uni.

3. I’ve decided to get the Martin DX1E, after trying $75,000 worth of acoustic guitars (all in one sitting). Musgrove Music is allowing me a generous lay-by, so this means I can spread the payment over a couple of months.

4. For the fitness fanatics, here’s my routine now. I’m running 4km upslopes at least twice a week, then going to the gym for some heavy weight training at least 3 times a week. I’m tempted to join my gym’s Boot Camp program – 12 sessions of physical training ($99). I get to bust my gut around some of Perth’s most scenic spots. Tempting…

5. Some of you would have heard me talking about my supposed job stint with Cirque Du Soleil. Turns out, I came back a little too late, so they ran out of vacancies. Since then, I’ve applied for a few jobs – Billy Hyde Music, another position in Cirque as a Site Supervisor, and Exomod cafe – this really nice cafe that has good food and FREE internet. Sadly, no bites from any of them. The good thing is I still have my old job at the engineering firm. At least that counts for something.

6. Uni starts on 23rd Feb, and I really can’t wait.

7. The more exciting thing is – in 18 days time some of you nutters are flying up to Perth!!! Soundwave ‘09 is gonna be so much fun with you peeps around. I can’t wait, I really can’t!

8. I got myself a bicycle, my 1st one since my BMX when I was 15. Including helmet, bike chain, new handgrips and a super bright LED headlight.

9. No Sameer, I’m still single.

10. I really really really want winter. Now.
